Corran @ Luskentyre
Nestled on the dramatic coastline of West Harris, Corran takes its name from the Gaelic word meaning ‘the peninsula’ – a fitting tribute to the stunning beach that stretches across the bay before you. This beautifully renovated traditional Hebridean crofter’s house offers an authentic taste of island life, elevated with contemporary comforts and breathtaking views over the world-renowned Luskentyre beach.
Your Island Retreat
Our stone-built property has been thoughtfully restored and extended, blending traditional Island architecture with modern luxury. Every detail has been carefully considered to create a sanctuary where you can truly unwind, whether you’re planning active adventures across the Outer Hebrides or seeking peaceful moments watching the ever-changing light dance across the turquoise waters.
Accommodation
Sleeping up to five guests, Corran provides generous space for families or groups. Upstairs, you’ll find a spacious king-sized master bedroom alongside a comfortable twin room and a cosy single bedroom – perfect for families. The thoughtful layout ensures everyone has their own peaceful retreat after days spent exploring this magnificent landscape.
Living Spaces
The heart of the home features a traditional lounge where you can gather around the crackling log burning stove on cooler evenings. But it’s our spectacular new sun lounge that truly sets Corran apart – with its expansive window framing panoramic views of the bay and its own warming log burner, this space transforms any moment into something magical. For entertainment, the sun lounge converts into your own private cinema, complete with projector and large screen for memorable movie nights with the Luskentyre backdrop.
The generous dining room comfortably seats your group around a large table, while the comfortable sofa and window seat provide additional spots to savour those captivating bay views. Two well-appointed bathrooms, including a newly fitted shower room alongside the main bathroom with over-bath shower, ensure convenience for all guests.

Seòl Mara @ Seilebost
Embracing the rhythm of the islands, Seòl Mara – Gaelic for ‘the tide’ – captures the eternal dance between land and sea that defines life in the Outer Hebrides. This completely renovated traditional cottage sits in one of Seilebost’s most coveted positions, where rolling hills meet pristine waters and every window frames a postcard-perfect vista of the legendary Luskentyre bay.
Your Island Sanctuary
This charming Island retreat has been transformed into a luxurious haven while preserving its authentic cottage character. From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel the gentle pull of island life – whether you’re warming yourself by the crackling wood burning stove on a crisp evening or stepping into the rear garden to drink in those mesmerising views across the bay to Luskentyre village, with Harris’s ancient hills rising majestically beyond.
Thoughtfully Designed Accommodation
Seòl Mara comfortably accommodates up to four guests across three beautifully appointed bedrooms. The master bedroom provides a peaceful retreat for couples, while two additional single bedrooms offer flexibility for families, friends, or solo travellers seeking their own private sanctuary after days exploring the islands.
Modern Comfort Meets Island Charm
The heart of the cottage features a fully modernised kitchen-dining area, expertly equipped for everything from morning coffee with your Tassimo machine to preparing feasts with local seafood and Island produce. Every convenience has been considered – washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, and microwave ensure effortless living, while the spacious layout makes cooking and dining together a pleasure rather than a chore.
Luxury touches throughout create an atmosphere of warmth and sophistication. Thick carpets invite you to kick off your hiking boots, while carefully chosen Harris Tweed accents celebrate the islands’ rich textile heritage. The elegant hardwood flooring in the entrance hallways and kitchen adds a contemporary touch that perfectly complements the cottage’s traditional stone walls.

It's Luskentyre
Nestled along West Harris’s magnificent Atlantic coastline, Corran and Seòl Mara offer two distinct perspectives on one of Scotland’s most celebrated landscapes. Both properties provide luxurious comfort with oil central heating and modernised facilities, including revitalising pressurised showers – perfect for refreshing yourself after days spent exploring pristine beaches or before settling in to watch spectacular Hebridean sunsets paint the famous Luskentyre sands in gold and crimson.
Each retreat offers its own unique vantage point: Corran provides direct access across the dunes to world-renowned Luskentyre beach, while Seòl Mara commands views across the bay to this natural wonder. From these idyllic bases, you’re perfectly positioned to explore dramatic clifftop walks, discover hidden coves, and uncover ancient archaeological treasures scattered across Harris’s timeless landscape.
Whether you’re chasing the Northern Lights across unpolluted skies, seeking adventure on coastal paths, or finding tranquility watching the Atlantic’s eternal rhythm, West Harris provides the perfect backdrop for reconnecting with nature. Here, crystal-clear turquoise waters rival any tropical paradise, yet retain the raw, untamed beauty that makes the Outer Hebrides truly unforgettable – your gateway to one of the world’s last genuinely wild places.

Corran Inside and out
Superbly situated, stone built holiday house in the sought after village of Luskentyre. Corran has views over the award winning white Luskentyre sands. The stunning beach is a few yards from the house, accessed via a short foot path opposite.
Surrounding Area
In addition to the array of white sandy beaches, Harris offers a haven of opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts and wildlife lovers. Sporting opportunities for the adventurous include: surfing, kite surfing, kayaking, cycling, mountaineering, rock climbing, fresh water and salt water angling.
How to get here…
Both Corran and Seòl Mara enjoy an ideal West Harris location – just 10-15 minutes from Tarbert’s ferry terminal, where your island adventure begins. Tarbert serves as Harris’s charming hub, offering essential amenities including shops, restaurants, and accommodations, ensuring you’re never far from conveniences while maintaining that precious sense of island remoteness.
Where Mountains Meet the Sea
Our properties are nestled within some of Scotland’s most breathtaking scenery, where the dramatic North Harris hills create a spectacular backdrop to world-famous sandy beaches. Each cottage offers its own unique relationship with this stunning landscape – Corran provides direct dune access to Luskentyre’s pristine sands, while Seòl Mara sits gracefully on Seilebost’s outskirts with shoreline access through its private enclosed garden.
Here, you’re perfectly positioned to experience the best of both worlds: the wild beauty of the Outer Hebrides at your doorstep, yet close enough to Harris’s amenities for effortless island living.

By Land
Reaching the ferry port, Uig from the South, will require an approach via the A82 / A87. Travelling through Ullapool, usually requires a drive via the A9 and A835 from the “central belt” of Scotland. Times for each journey can vary considerably depending upon time of year and time of day.

By Sea
It is from Uig on the Isle of Skye that the Harris ferry, operated by Caledonian Macbrayne, departs from and takes approximately 1 hour 40 minutes. Alternatively, there is the Ullapool to Stornoway ferry which takes about 2 hours 30 minutes to cross the Minch. You can also sail from from the Island of Berneray to Leverburgh in the South of Harris, if you are spending time in the Southern Isles.

“Seòl Mara is the most comfortable, well-equipped and beautifully-located cottage we have ever rented for a holiday. We spent a week here in March and wish we had arranged to stay for a fortnight. The location is incomparable. You can walk out of the back door, across the back lawn and straight down onto Seilebost beach. The walk out towards the ocean with the ever expanding view across to Luskentyre and the Harris mountains is stunning.”
“Lovely property with absolutely everything you could need for a wonderful stay. Right next to the beach, great views, every possible facility. Fab location on Harris, great for walking. Very well furnished, peaceful, large garden. The owners are easily contactable and ready to help or advise on anything, really friendly.”
